What it does
Most weather-route apps hand you a forecast, then send you to a different app to drive. RouteSky does both — route weather, an explained Journey Score, the best time to leave, and real turn-by-turn guidance on iPhone, CarPlay and Apple Watch.
A live weather corridor along your drive, powered by Apple Weather and matched to your real arrival times — rain onset, fog, snow and ice risk, crosswind on exposed bridges and low sun glare, shown where and when you’ll meet them.
Every route gets one honest number and the specific reasons behind it. Compare routes side by side on time and conditions, and tune the weighting to the drive you actually do.
Sometimes the answer is a different hour, not a different road. Compare departure times across a window, set a leave-time reminder, and get a morning nudge when frost or heat is forecast.
Full turn-by-turn with 3D guidance, spoken directions and automatic rerouting. New in 3.0: CarPlay paints your route with the weather ahead, shows a Journey Score on every route choice, and warns you ten minutes before a change.
New in 3.0: pick a departure and count down to it live on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, on the Apple Watch Smart Stack and the CarPlay Dashboard. It ends itself the moment you start driving.
New in 3.0: ask about the drive — “Will I hit rain?”, “When’s the calmest time to leave?” — and get an answer worked out on your iPhone from this route’s real forecast, with every number checked against it. Needs Apple Intelligence.
Pick a driver mode — commute, taxi and rideshare, long-haul, coach and bus, or motorcycle — and the screen, the warnings and the route ranking reshape around it.
Save the commute you actually drive and RouteSky watches it for you — the score, the weather and the hour to leave on your Home Screen, Lock Screen and wrist. “Check my commute” works with Siri.
Optional live incident alerts from TomTom (HERE as fallback), and optional Community Reports — ice, fog, flooding, closures — shared by other drivers without names or profiles, that can be flagged, and expire on their own. No account. No ads. No advertising or cross-app tracking, and no personal data sold. Location is used to plan and follow your drive, Ask RouteSky answers on your device, and Community Reports stay off unless you switch them on — and show no name or profile if you do.
