RouteSky Community Guidelines.
The rules for Community Reports: short, structured warnings that drivers share about the road ahead.
Community Reports are off by default. If you turn them on, you accept these guidelines. They sit alongside Section 7 of the RouteSky Terms of Use, which is the contractual version.
1. Report only what you can see
Submit a report only for a genuine road condition you have actually seen, at the place you saw it. Never submit a report you know, or ought to know, is false or out of date.
2. Report only when it is safe
Report when you are stopped somewhere safe, when you are a passenger, or through hands-free controls where that is lawful. RouteSky does not stop you from starting a report while the car is moving, so the decision about whether it is safe and lawful to use the app is yours. Never hold or handle your phone while driving where the law prohibits it.
3. Keep it about the road
A report is a hazard type chosen from a fixed list, a place and a time. There is no free text, no chat, no photo or video upload and no public profile, so there is nothing to write and no one to address. Do not use reports to identify, follow or target a person or a vehicle.
4. No checkpoint reports
RouteSky has no police, checkpoint or sobriety-check report type, and Community Reports must not be used to help anyone avoid the law. Where RouteSky offers a mobile speed check report type, it means a temporary speed-enforcement location and nothing else. It is available only in countries where such reports are lawful, and it may be shown as a zone rather than an exact point.
5. Don’t game the system
Do not send spam or repeated reports, or use several devices to get round limits. Do not confirm, flag or block in bad faith, and do not interfere with rate limits, flag thresholds or suspensions.
6. What happens to reports
Reports expire by themselves, between 30 minutes and 6 hours after they are made depending on the type. Other drivers can confirm that a report is still there or gone, flag it with a reason, or block every report from its source. A report flagged by several different installations is hidden automatically. An installation whose reports are repeatedly hidden is suspended from sharing for a short period. These controls are automated; a person reviews a report or a decision if you ask us to.
7. Removal and restriction
Where it is reasonably necessary to keep the feature honest, protect drivers or meet a legal obligation, RouteSky may hide or remove reports and restrict or suspend an installation’s ability to share, as set out in the RouteSky Terms.
8. Tell us about misuse
To raise a concern about a report, about moderation or about online safety, email hello@alderframe.co.uk with the subject RouteSky Online Safety Complaint. If you believe a report contains illegal content, use our illegal-content notice route.
