RouteSky · Your data
RouteSky — Request deletion of your data.
How to ask Alderframe Ltd to delete the information RouteSky holds about you, what we can delete, and what only ever lived on your phone.
To request deletion, email hello@alderframe.co.uk with the subject RouteSky data deletion request. If your request is about Community Reports, tell us the approximate time and place of the reports you want removed. You do not need to send identity documents, and we will not ask for them.
RouteSky has no account
RouteSky is made by Alderframe Ltd. It does not ask you to create an account or sign in, so there is no account to close and no profile to delete. Almost everything RouteSky knows about you lives only on your device. The exceptions are described below.
What you can delete yourself, on your device
On supported RouteSky versions you can use the in-app control to delete your data: in RouteSky for iPhone it is Profile → Delete All RouteSky Data. It removes your saved trips, places, preferences and caches from the device. Deleting the app does the same. This data is never uploaded to Alderframe, so there is nothing for us to delete on our side.
RouteSky for Android is not yet available. When it is, this page will name its in-app deletion control.
What Alderframe can delete for you
- Community Reports you shared (only if you turned the optional feature on). Reports expire by themselves within 30 minutes to 6 hours. A daily clean-up then removes each report from our database, with its confirmations, flags and reach records, once 5 days have passed since it expired or was hidden. If you want a report removed sooner, email us with its approximate time and place and we will find and delete it. A record of a temporary sharing suspension is removed 5 days after the suspension ends. Blocks you placed on other drivers’ reports are kept until you remove them in the app.
- Emails you have sent us, including support and privacy requests.
What we may not be able to find. Reports are linked only to a random identifier created on your device, never to your name or email address. If you cannot tell us roughly when and where a report was made, we may not be able to identify it. It will still be removed by the automatic clean-up described above.
What is kept, and for how long
- Backups. Our database provider, Supabase, keeps daily backups of the database for 7 days. A deleted report can remain in a backup until that backup expires. Backups are used only to recover the service after a failure.
- Security and operational logs. Request logs held by our infrastructure provider, which include network addresses and the map areas the app fetched, are kept for a short fixed period for security and reliability, and then deleted. We do not use them to identify the author of a report.
- Legal retention. Where the law requires us to, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim, we may keep specific records for as long as that requires.
Records held by other companies
Some records are held by companies Alderframe does not control: your purchase history with the App Store, and the request records of Apple Weather and, if you use live incidents, TomTom, under their own privacy terms. We cannot delete those. The company’s own privacy settings and policies apply.
What happens next
We acknowledge every request and act on it within one month, as data-protection law requires. We tell you what we deleted and anything we could not identify. If you are unhappy with how we handled your request, you can use our data protection complaint form, and you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
